The Rider Fitness App

The sport specific coaching app for all Equestrians

As riders we train tirelessly trying to get our horses ‘fit’, ‘balanced’ & ‘supple’ but we often neglect our own fitness. We often forget how important our own posture, balance, and conditioning is and how it can have a massive impact on our horses' way of going.
My coaching app has been designed to give you all the essential tools you need as a rider to help your horse perform better by providing you with the next level of gains in your partnership & and performance. It begins with being the very best we can be!

My Story

For those that don’t know much about me,  this is me in the pictures…my name is Steph and I’m a sport specific Equestrian Strength & Conditioning coach. But I’ve also evented up to intermediate and 2* level.

So I actually didn’t start riding until I was 19 years old. Long story short I was originally a professional dancer but an ankle injury ended that career and I randomly decided I wanted to learn how to ride…so that’s what I did and this is where we are!

Now I decided to share these pictures with you to show you just what you can achieve with sport specific training and a whole lot of hard work. The top picture is probably my second or third ever novice and the bottom picture is from a couple years later.

For me, it’s always been about lower leg and staying in balance (don’t get me wrong it’s still a massive work in progress). I was so determined to get it right and improve it that I went away and practiced, practiced practiced. BUT the difference wasn’t made in the saddle, I found it was actually made from the accessory work I did on the ground. I knew practicing in the saddle wasn’t improving my leg position enough so I went away and designed and created as many functional exercises as I could on the ground and tested them ALL (trust me I spent hours finding the solutions to problems I was having) and with consistency and perseverance, THAT was the thing that really got me from A to B.

Still don’t think you should be doing rider fitness?

“So I went riding this morning and immediately had to adjust my stirrups as they felt odd. Just from the small sessions last night I noticed a massive difference in how even I felt while riding”

"This really is the missing link in rider/horse partnership progression”

"I felt that my two sessions last week were really helpful when I got into the saddle. I was really focused on my shoulders but also felt the muscles around my hips working".
